Tamara Black is an award winning Canadian-Italian director, producer and writer known for her captivating visuals, ingenuity and an eye for detail that allows her to transcend creative formats. She was chosen to participate in the BANFF Spark Accelerator, WIDC’s Story & Leadership Program, GEMS TV Producers Program and has received support from MVP Project and Canada Council. Her work has been screened at international festivals including Berlin Art Film Festival, LA Indies and Chicago Indie Film Awards. She has been featured in outlets such as Booooooom, ET Canada, Global News, Promonews, The Georgia Straight, Range and Shiny.
Tamara is also a documentary and audio producer who has worked with clients like Kelly&Kelly, iHeart Radio, Clamor, Warner, Instagram, Unwell Network, EA Sports, HBO and Volcaniq Studios. She has produced Webby Award winning podcasts like “Supreme: The Battle for Roe”.
Currently, she’s in production on numerous projects and is developing an original series “Pilled”. Her short film “The After School Club“ is premiering at Whistler Film Festival this December. Her narrative slate explores mental health, sexuality, trauma and friendship through genre-bending concepts. A harmonization of grit, humor and emotion shines through in her work, creating stylized visuals that are hard to ignore. Tamara holds a BA in Criminology from Simon Fraser University, which started her love of the thriller genre.
